Tuesday Techniques - Scratch and Sniff Technique FREE Tutorial

Directions:

Sniff 1
Mix 1 part sugar-free drink mix to 1-1/2 parts Clear Stampin' Emboss powder.

Sniff 2
Stamp your bold image on card stock with a color that coordinates with your embossing powder mix.

Using a Stamp-a-ma-jig, stamp your image a second time in VersaMark ink.  Pour embossing powder mix over image and heat emboss.

Tips:If you only want to emboss a portion of your image, use a VersaMarker to ink the desired section of your stamp for step 3.  You can use Craft ink for step 2 and skip step 3.  Your drink mix should be sugar-free because heated sugar crisps and browns.

Tuesday Techniques - Faux Metal Technique FREE Tutorial

Directions:

Faux metal 1
Cut card stock to desired size and stamp a VersaMark pad over the entire piece. Sprinkle Gold or Silver Stampin' Emboss powder over card stock piece.

Faux metal 2
Heat powder using heat tool. Sprinkle on additional powder while the image is still hot, and reheat. Repeat at least three times.

Faux metal 3
To create image, ink your stamp with VersaMark ink (to avoid sticking) and press into warm layers of embossing powder.

Tip:   Have your inked stamp ready to use immediately after the last time you heat the powder. If you wait too long, the embossing will harden to the point that you won't be able to create an impression with your stamp (if this does happen, simply reheat the card stock piece).

Tuesday Techniques - Cracked Glass FREE Tutorial

Directions:

Cracked1

Stamp your image and cut card stock to desired size.  Apply VersaMark ink to entire piece of card stock using a brayer or direct-to-paper technique.

Cracked 2
Sprinkle Glassy Glaze Enamel Stampin' Emboss powder over entire piece of card stock. Tap off excess powder, and melt remaining powder using heat tool. If you're creating a small accent piece, use the tweezers to hold your card stock.  For small images, sprinkle on additional powder while the image is still hot. For larger images, allow card stock to cool and apply more VersaMark ink before sprinkling more powder over the image. Repeat up to four times.  Put your card stock in the freezer for a minute or two to ensure the glaze has cooled completely.

Cracked 3
Remove card stock from freezer, and bend back and forth until the enameled layer cracks. Continue bending different portions of the card stock until you've achieved the look you desire.

Cracked 4
(Optional): To emphasize cracked look, sponge ink into the cracks in your enamel using a sponge dauber.
