10 Reasons To Use Stamping In Your Scrapbooks

Stamping isn't just for cards!! Give stamps a try with your next scrapbook project. "Scramping" is fun and rewarding!
  1. You can create your own style. Stamps are never limiting and each image can have many different looks
  2. You can choose the colors of ink to coordinate with your photos and background paper.
  3. Stamps add dimension to your scrapbook pages. Subtle background techniques accent pictures and fill in blanks.
  4. You can coordinate stamped invitations, party favors, decorations, etc for an event, then use the same colors and images when you scrapbook the event.
  5. Stamps offer more versatility, there are more to choose from and they don't run out!
  6. A sticker can only be used once but a stamp will offer a lifetime of images!
  7. Stamped images do not visually compete with your photos which is the focal point of the page.
  8. You will actually save money by stamping instead of buying stickers!
  9. You can use your stamps on other craft projects so they do double duty!
  10. "Scramping" is simply too much fun!

Happy Hostess Workshops

Hi! I have received some great feedback on the Happy Hostess Workshops! I have several of you who are interested, but are concerned about having to bring 5 people.

Let me explain my initial intent.... I was hoping it would work to your benefit, as you would be sure to make at least the $150 to receive hostess benefits with each of the 5 only having to spend roughly $30.

With your feedback (I really DO love feedback ladies, so don't ever be shy!!!), I have decided to eliminate the minimum number of attendees. Bring whoever you want! If at all possible, I would like there to be no more than 10 guests per hostess A and 10 guests per hostess B so that we could maintain a manageable workshop.

Here is the updated information:

HAPPY HOSTESS WORKSHOPS
Location: Pleasant Grove UMC Fellowship Hall.
Cost: FREE (donations to PGUMC welcome).

  • Just like in-home workshops, but hostesses won't have to make snacks OR clean the house!
  • 4 hostess slots each month. Hostesses sign up bring a maximum of 10 people.
  • Walk-ins welcomed (PRIOR to the start of the workshop). Assigned to established hostess groups.
  • 2 hostess groups meet at same time (hostess group A and hostess group B).
  • Participants each take home a scrapbooking make and take, a card make and take, and Big Shot item.
  • Light refreshments available.
  • Each hostess earns all hostess benefits from orders received from guests in own hostess group (A or B respectively).
  • 10% of my profit will go to Pleasant Grove UMC.

Introducing Bella B Design Team Member - Daphne Wright!

Daphne Wright

  • TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF:
I am married to my best friend and I am the mom of 3 boys (ages 10, 17, and 20). I homeschool our youngest son. I have been a nurse for 16-1/2 years and finally found the best place in the world to work - night shift in the newborn nursery.
  • HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PAPER CRAFTING?
Hmmm... that's a good question. Probably 5 or 6 years.
  • WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT STAMPIN' UP!?
Quality products. Lots of inspirational ideas in the catalog. Large variety to choose from.
  • WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TYPE OF PROJECT TO WORK ON AND WHY?
Cards! Because they are fairly quick to do. I love to give homeade cards because they mean more and they are appreciated more - or so I've been told by the recipients.
  • WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE STAMPIN' UP! PRODUCT AND WHY?
You're kidding, right? I gotta pick one? Sorry - can't. I LOVE the cardstock! It is the perfect weight for cards... and the colors are marvelous. The stamps are great! Such a variety to choose from. I guess that's why I have so many sets! Oh! And the ink is awesome! I had to use another brand of ink because I didn't have that color in SU and was severely disappointed in the results. Designer Series Paper! Do I need to say more?? Beautiful!
  • DO YOU HAVE A DESIGNATED "SCRAMPING" SPACE?
Most definitely! Although my youngest keeps trying to take over my space with his stuff!

  • ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE US TO KNOW?
I am a paper fanatic! I love beautiful paper! I collect paper! I hate to use the last of a set of printed paper. I'm always scared I won't find it again. Paper crafting has helped me with my OCD. Don't get me wrong - I still have it but I'm learning that it's okay that everything isn't perfect. It's my stress relief. When my life gets hectic, I HAVE to make time to paper craft.

Daphne, welcome to the Design Team! I am so happy to have you! I know that everyone is anxiously awaiting your posts!

Introducing Bella B Design Team Member - Kay Schnack!

Kay Schnack

  • TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF:
Hi! My name is Kay Schnack. I have been happily married for almost 15 years to a wonderful transplanted Nebraskan! I am the mother of a 32-year-old son and GRANDMA to a beautiful 3-year-old granddaughter! She is the inspiration to a lot of my crafting/scramping ideas!!! I also have an 18-year-old Himalayan (Sandi), an 8-year-old Black American Short hair (Kali), a 15-year-old Brittany (Misty), and a loveable mix breed of 4 years (Gordon). Needless to say, there are a lot of photos involving them too! I have lived through out the US and have been involved in many different types of crafting! This is how I can relax after a long day at work! I am an RN and work at a major Insurance company!

  • HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PAPER CRAFTING?
I have been involved in paper crafting probably about 8 years! I was introduced when I lived in Virginia and was taught by some talented people. When I moved to Ga… this was an awesome way to meet people with the same interests!

  • WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT STAMPIN' UP!?
I absolutely love how everything coordinates! You don’t have to be a “matchy matchy” person to enjoy how things coordinate. I really do think I love everything they have to be honest!!! OH.. those punches are DIVINE as well! There is nothing better to dress up an item/page…..

  • WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TYPE OF PROJECT TO WORK ON AND WHY?
I initially started doing scrapbooks; in fact, when my son got married, I did one of his life. Imagine doing 27 years in a month! I had not "met" Stampin' Up! at that time! If I had.. it would not have been so hard trying to find things that coordinated well in order to make the book flow. Now, I enjoy card making and altering projects! The Stampin' Up! card stock is so easy to work with and looks soooo rich.. and the Designer Series Paper and embellishments are so awesome, making each project look better than something bought in the store! You know how your family and friends love something that is homemade!

  • WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE STAMPIN' UP! PRODUCT AND WHY?
I don’t know if I can pick just ONE! Maybe the PUNCHES! I use them on almost everything I do!!!!! The scissors are the sharpest I have ever used, they work GREAT and have clean lines. I have had them for awhile.. and they remain sharp! I love the papers… ALL of them! I love the stamps! I also like the fact I can buy refills for my stamp cleaner pad!!! That may sound odd, but I have actually used this same Stampin' Up! pad for years! The quality is definitely there!

  • DO YOU HAVE A DESIGNATED "SCRAMPING SPACE?"
Oh! Yes! Finally, my own room! We moved to Georgia 3 years ago and I have taken up in a bedroom in the basement! I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to have this room! It is always in a state of “organizational need,” but I love it!

  • ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE US TO KNOW?
I am very honored to be a part of a wonderful design team. The products are wonderful quality products and lend an ease to any project you want to make. I am also a paper fanatic. It hurts me to cut paper! It is so beautiful, I have used the designer paper as a back in a frame… as the “art”. Crafting is such a relaxing hobby and I truly enjoy all the wonderful friends I have met in this arena. This is something you can do alone, or with a group of friends! I think what makes this such an enjoyable hobby is that there are no mistakes!!!! It has taken me awhile to learn this… and my good friends have shown me how to take a “mistake” and turn in into a wonderful creation! Some people have an inborn talent of creativity… and some of us need to look at sketches or magazines… but it is all enjoyable and oh, so fun! I hope to be able to inspire people as I have been inspired!

Kay, I am so proud to have you as a member of my design team! We are all looking forward to seeing what you create!

Introducing Bella B Design Team Member - Victoria Martin!

Victoria Martin

  • TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF:
Hi! My name is Victoria Martin. I have been happily married for 22 years to a wonderful man. I am the mother of a 20-year-old daughter and the step-mother to 2 beautiful young women, the oldest of which have produced 2 adorable grandchildren, making me the Nana to 4-year-old Conner and 2-year-old Paislee. I am also the Nana to a 3-year-old Yorkie named Khloie. I have loved the crafting world for years. I have done cross-stitch, crochet, needle point, and painted my way to the best craft of all, paper crafting!
  • HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PAPER CRAFTING?
Wow that’s almost hard to answer. I have been doing paper crafts for approximately 12 years. The time has flown by! The thrill of cutting paper into all sorts of shapes and sizes and making a masterpiece is awesome. I think I have found a new love!
  • WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT STAMPIN' UP!?
I knew you were going to ask me that. Ok.... let me see... I really like the grosgrain ribbons and the rich-colored cardstock. The inks are awesome with their bright luscious colors. Now, the markers are crafters dream come true! Did I mention the Designer Series Papers? Well you have to get some. The elements are super for adding the perfect small touches to a page or card. And lets not forget the well-coordinated Simply Sent Card Kits. Oh my I almost forgot the STAMPS!! If you have never had the chance to work with a set, you have got to! They are very durable and everlasting.
  • WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TYPE OF PROJECT TO WORK ON AND WHY?
My first and favorite paper crafting project was/is scrapbooking. The Designer Series paper pack takes all the guess work out of matching paper. They coordinate perfectly with the solid cardstocks. I like how each kit tells the colors in the kits and that takes out all of the confusion of what solid cardstock to get. I am now getting into the stamping and card making world. It’s so nice to make a card in minutes rather than buy one. This way it has a special personalized touch - and is made with care and love.
  • WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE STAMPIN' UP! PRODUCT AND WHY?
Do I have to pick one? Well, I will have to say the stamps, then inks is a close second. Can I have two favorites? The rich colored inks and the awesome details of the stamps go perfectly hand in hand in making a great craft project.
  • DO YOU HAVE A DESIGNATED "SCRAMPING" SPACE?
Oh absolutely yes, after 12 years of collecting (I mean crafting)! A crafter must have their personal dedicated space to create; although, I do feel that I need more space. Maybe I need to better organize. Either way it is a place that my family and I call, “The Scrapbook Room”.
  • ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE US TO KNOW?
I am much honored to be a part of a wonderful design team. I feel that we will show wonderful creations for anyone to complete on their own. I am so excited to show several projects that will be easy to complete. Being able to share ideas with others are a must in the crafting community. I hope to fully INSPIRE…CREATE…SHARE with everyone.
Thanks, Vicki for being a part of my design team. I know that everyone will be excited to see what you create!
